Maddox has yet to be fully booked into the Detention Center.

Earlier today, the Sheriff’s Office announced that warrants had been obtained against 26 year old Chauncey Demetrius Williams of Meadowbrook Circle in Anderson on the same charges. Williams was released from the hospital yesterday after receiving treatment for a gunshot wound and was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:11am this morning.

According to the arrest warrants, Williams and Maddox are accused of entering a residence on Timber Ridge Lane without consent and to commit a crime while armed with a deadly weapon. Williams and Maddox are also accused of stealing a pair of shoes from the residence.

Besides the arrest of Williams and Maddox by investigators, one other subject was identified in the investigation, with that subject being cleared of charges based on evidence gathered so far. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking to identify a fourth subject in relation to the investigation and this afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office is releasing a picture of that subject.

An investigation began yesterday afternoon after deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to an address on Timber Ridge Lane near Seneca due to reports of shots being fired. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that a subject, identified as Williams, was at Oconee Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division were notified and responded to the hospital. As more facts became available, it was determined that a group of individuals burglarized a home while armed. While on the property, the homeowner discharged a firearm, striking one of the subjects.
