Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Townville Man on Trafficking in Methamphetamine Charge



(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Townville man over the weekend on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine after a pursuit late last week.


38 year old Christopher Lee O’Donald of Rachels Drive was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6:34am on Saturday, May 1st. O’Donald has also been charged with one count of Failure to stop for a Blue Light.


Last Friday afternoon, investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division, while patrolling the Utica Mill Hill near Seneca, observed a motorcycle behind their vehicle on Ames Street near Hope Avenue. Investigators later observed the same motorcycle at the intersection of Double Branch Road at North Singing Pines Road near Seneca.


Investigators turned their vehicle onto North Singing Pines Road, upon which the motorcycle started to accelerate at a high rate of speed. Investigators attempted to make a traffic stop, however, the driver of the motorcycle ignored the lights and sirens of the investigators vehicle and did not pull over.


The driver operating the motorcycle left the Seneca area and made his way towards Townville, where the pursuit ended with the driver, O’Donald, losing control of the motorcycle at his home address on Rachels Drive.


O’Donald attempted to elude deputies on foot but was taken into custody. Deputies located a quantity of narcotics on his person, which were turned over to Narcotics Agents. According to an arrest warrant, O’Donald possessed between 100 and 200 grams of Methamphetamine.


O’Donald was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on Saturday, May 1st after posting bond. He was given a combined $35,000.00 surety bond.
